3d Lego Blocks

Lego blocks where decided to be included in the scene. we decided on this because Lego is a really common toy and is found in most children's playrooms. we decided the Lego blocks would go into the 3d cart.

For Reference i researched to get some images on Lego pieces.(Image from http://www.w3.org/2005/Talks/0308-semweb-em/legos.jpg)

Before modelling in 3ds max i pre planned the design for approval from the group members.

This 3d model was created with two simple shapes a chamfer cylinder and a box which where both modified. The final renders of the Lego looked very compelling and realistic all though i experienced problems with the final renders as the rendering process took long this was due to the poly count being very high. this was a problem as the final render time would be way too long. to over come this problem i recreated the model and instead of using the chamfer cylinder for the the tops of the Lego i used the normal cylinder this decreased the poly count drastically.

The above render is demonstrating the time taken to render the high poly model.

The above image is how the final render looked for the Lego blocks.
